We are very excited about the Google Android project.
Finally, it looks like we have a proper computing platform
that will allow businesses to deploy real applications in the manner they want onto mobile phones
(not just Blackberry email or whatever the network operator or manufacturer will let you download).
The Android system (as used on the upcoming HTC Magic from Vodafone pictured below)
will allow us to develop business applications that are properly integrated into all aspects of the phone.
We should now be able to get proper mobile business applications without having to lug a laptop around.
In addition, there are a number of aspects of Android that makes it suitable for use in areas such as ours where
mobile phone coverage can be patchy.
We are actively working on applications for this platform. Watch this space...
